"This is the kind of music you expect to hear when someone says 'Americana'" - Greg Jones, Ear to The Ground Music

Matt Burke has lived a life full of twists and turns. He grew up in a small town in central Florida, spent a brief stint in grad school in Michigan, and eventually found himself in Chicago developing his musicality and performance chops. After returning to Florida to focus on playing music full time, Burke eventually found himself in Nashville, TN, where he has been steadily making a name for himself as a songwriter and performer.

Since the fall of 2020, Burke has been releasing a steady stream of new material that has drawn comparisons to Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, and Zac Brown. His powerful songwriting and soulful voice have earned him critical acclaim, including being named a 2022 USA Songwriting Competition Finalist and earning Honorable Mention in the 2021 USA Songwriting Christmas Song Competition.

Burke's newest single "Won't Give Up" is a powerful testament to the resilience of the human spirit. The songwriting is honest and heartfelt, with Burke's lyrics exploring the struggles and setbacks that we all face in life. This song is a must-listen for anyone in need of inspiration and hope.

When it comes to his music, Burke draws from a wide range of inspiration, citing 1970s outlaw country, 90’s contemporary country, and classic songwriters like Townes Van Zandt and John Prine as major influences on his sound. His versatile style touches on many different aspects of the Country and Americana genres; from honky-tonk line-dance anthems to heartbreaking bar stool laments, and Top 40 country-rock singles ready for the hot 100.

The road to Nashville hasn’t been an easy one for Burke: from his early days playing in dive bars in small towns in Central Florida to the challenges he's faced honing his craft as a songwriter and artist in a town overflowing with talent, Burke's story is one of perseverance and determination. It's a story that has shaped him as an artist and that continues to inform his music today.
